This is the new Ford Fiesta

Tags

It was slow time: after eight years, Ford presented the reissue of Fiesta. Due to the 40th anniversary of the small car, the sleeves of the 2017 model now fell. We were at the presentation in a Cologne factory workshop and have brought first pictures. They show what we expect from the eighth generation.

More overview
The basic design has retained Ford, but more sophisticated at the sleekness. At the front end, the new Fiesta mixes elements of the predecessor and the Focus. The rear view is quite new with horizontal lights. In the length, the Fiesta increases by seven centimeters and exceeds the magic four-meter mark with 4.04 meters in the future. A continual criticism was the overloaded dashboard. Through an up to eight-inch touch screen (4.2 inches at the base) the command center is clearly purged. Also featured are the Sync-3 system with AppLink and optionally a high-end audio system from Bang & Olufsen.

Three cylinder is trump
A new addition is the wider range of the Fiesta range: the small car is available as a three or five-door, as a particularly noble Vignale version, sporty ST-Line and even as a crossover model Fiesta Active. The diversity of equipment options is emphasized. Ford still covers the engines. On the petrol side, the models of the single-liter three-cylinder supercharged are quite safe: 100 hp (also with automatic) and 125 and 140 hp. For the basic versions, Ford is providing a 1.1-liter three-cylinder vacuum cleaner with 70 and 85 hp. From 2018 on, the turbomotor will also receive a cylinder cut-off. One of the three combustion chambers is "shut down" at short notice. Diesel friends have the choice between 85 and 120 HP. In the long term, a new ST model will crown the range. So far, the sportsman made 182 hp. Also the prices of the new Fiesta are so far in the stars. The current model starts with 60 hp at 12.500 euros.
